Fernando Iniguez: A Bit Surreal

Am I actually going to Bolivia?  A bit surreal.  When I first talked to Dora, an Interplast staff member who helps coordinate the surgical volunteer trips Friday over the phone, I was just going through the motions of just simply talking to an individual about a trip.  But, when Monday came around and I got my flight confirmation and paper work from Interplast, then at that moment, I got excited.  I called my girlfriend and told her that for sure I was going.  From then on it was just a matter of me buying certain supplies that I did not have with me while in Texas, where I have been working for the last few weeks (I usually live in Los Angeles).  Now that I’m in La Paz and have met all those that I flew with, I feel very comfortable.  I have noticed that all the members are very down to earth and professional.
