We’d like to offer a warm welcome to Dr. Richard Agag who is joining the Interplast community as the 2010–2011 Webster Fellow. Richard’s commitment to providing reconstructive surgery to those in need was sparked during his residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During that time, Richard participated in two surgical trips to the Philippines. “The work was exhausting both physically and mentally but the sense of satisfaction was a reminder of why I chose plastic surgery not as just a job, but to be a major part of my life,” he recalls.
Following the completion of his residency and after undergoing microsurgery training at the University of Pennsylvania, Richard applied for Interplast’s Webster Fellow program.
As the Webster Fellow, he will spend a year working alongside Interplast international partners and medical volunteers around the world. Visit our blog, where Richard will be updating us on his journey. He will head to Bamako, Mali, this September.
