After the surgeons examine patients to see if reconstructive surgery is an appropriate treatment, Dr. Mary Hermann, volunteer pediatrician, and Drs. Scott Douglass and Marshall Jones, volunteer anesthesiologists, evaluated the patients to see if they would be healthy enough for safe surgery.
