This is the author of the really sweet thank you note (scroll down a few posts). When we read the note, we realized that the girl was already in surgery. So when she came out and woke up, Frieda gave her a big hug to thank her, and then braided her hair.
As long as we're on the subject of thanking those who help us out and make our days brighter, we'd also like to thank the Integra Foundation, a New Jersey-based philanthropic foundation, established by Integra LifeSciences, a leader in the research, manufacturing and marketing of devices used reconstructive surgery. The Foundation's supplemental grant for this trip is literally helping to change the lives of children in China.
